When he was 23, he went out on his own and got started on his solo business venture in 2001. He was able to keep himself busy and sustainable all year long, not easy task for a first year!
When he first got started, his father helped him a couple days a week and after a few years, Marley started working summers with the landscaping business and winters teaching skiing and waitressing until the workload required Marley year round, which was in 2008.
They married in 2007 and welcomed two children, Michelle (2011) and Mario (2016). The family enjoys outdoor recreation such as skiing, snowmobiling, four wheeling, some hiking and snowshoeing, boating, and their absolute favorite-camping! In 2006 they hired their first non-family employee and now have 12-13 employees in the summer and 7 during the winter months. When Mike first started out, he offered landscaping, light trucking and skid steer, and eventually tractor work. Each year, he has grown his business by adding new equipment and new services. Mike is erosion control certified through the state of Maine, septic certified and skilled beyond his years with excavation and skid steer work. He’s always adding new pieces of equipment, new implements and new attachments to make his job and his employees’ jobs easier, trying to get the most out of each piece of equipment and each season that he can.
Our fleet is equipped with a wide range of heavy-duty machinery to handle excavation, landscaping, and property maintenance projects of all sizes. This includes six excavators—featuring models such as the Sany 135, Kubota 80, Kubota 057, two Kubota U35 units, and a Kubota 008—along with three skid steers (two wheeled Case models and one track unit). We also operate a Kubota 3400 tractor, a forklift, and multiple loaders, including a Case 521D mini loader and a Kubota SLC. To support large-scale lawn care and site finishing, our fleet includes 12 commercial-grade mowers and a hydro seeder.
In addition to our excavation and landscaping machinery, our fleet is fully equipped to handle seasonal demands and heavy transport needs. We operate a Finn stump grinder and a Vermeer unit, along with 10 Western/Fisher snowplows and seven Ford F-350 trucks used for both plowing and summer landscaping. Our fleet also includes a Ford F-550 wing truck, two snow pushers (one small and one large), and seven dump trucks—comprised of three large and four small models, including Sterling 9500, Sterling Acterra, Ford 800, Ford F-600, and three Ford F-550 units. Supporting operations further, we have a Ford F-350 fleet service truck, two 84-inch hydraulic snowblowers.
